INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- EXTERNALLY FUSE POWER TO EACH AMP WITH A FAST BLOW FUSE FOR FIRST TEST. ( USE of rated value.)
- MATCH THE CPU CODE MARKED ON THE ACTUATORS TO ITS CONTROLLER. CPUS are interchangeable pcb to pcb.
(See Controller Manual for more Info on: Auto test mode, BioMotion settings, manual test pot, CPU codes, LEDs, heat sink, etc.) - BEFORE MOUNTING ACTUATORS CHECK ONE AT A TIME WITH POWER ON FOR PROPER OPERATION.
- DRIVERS OR ACTUATORS MAY HAVE INTERNAL RESETTABLE FUSES. TO RESET TURN OFF POWER.
- MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WORKING AROUND ACTUATORS TO PREVENT INJURY.
- ACTUATORS ARE WEATHER PROTECTED, BUT NOT WATER PROOF.
- DO NOT USE UNDER WATER OR IN EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENTS.
- ACTUATORS ARE MAINTENANCE FREE. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE. DOING SO WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
- A LINEAR ACTUATOR SHOULD NEVER BE FULLY RETRACTED OR EXTENDED TO A STALL CONDITION OR BE OVER LOADED AND STALLED IN MID STROKE.
- MOUNTING: ACTUATORS MUST HAVE EQUAL SUPPORT ON EACH SIDE OF ITS CLEVIS MOUNTS FOR EQUAL LOAD DISTRIBUTION. CANTILEVER MOUNTING MAY CAUSE ACTUATOR TO BIND AND SHORTEN ITS LIFE. KEEP THE LOAD ON CENTER LINE WITH THE ACTUATOR AXIS. BEST PRACTICE IS TO USE ONE RODEND BALL JOIN AT ONE END. DO NOT TUBE OR BODY MOUNT THE ACTUATORS.
CAUTION: | DO NOT TWIST THE ACTUATOR OUTPUT ROD IN ANY DIRECTION. |
The Linear Rod is bonded to the internal acme nut threads. Do not turn, tighten or unscrew. For the L-Series actuators hold the rod with 3/8 wrench to prevent it from turning if installing a rod end fitting. |
